Lorenzo out of Sachsenring
The Mallorcan world champion has high-sided again, damaging the plate inserted into his broken left collarbone just two weeks agoYamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo has pulled out of this weekend’s German MotoGP round at Sachsenring following a high speed crash this in the second free practice session on July 12.
After setting the fastest time in opening practice, less than 10 minutes into the second session saw Lorenzo suffer a huge high-side, falling heavily onto the injured shoulder. He was taken immediately to the medical centre for x-rays where it was revealed he had damaged the plate inserted in surgery just two weeks ago. As a result the decision has been made to withdraw from the balance of the meeting, with Lorenzo immediately flying back to Barcelona to undergo more surgery.
Local rider Helmut Bradl (Honda) was the fastest on day one, ahead of Lorenzo, title leader Dani Pedrosa (Honda), last start winner Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) and Marc Marquez (Honda).
The next GP will be held at Laguna Seca in America from July 19-21.
