Motorcycling Australia has announced that it has distributed funds totalling $10,000 to nine promising Aussie motorcycle racers who will be competing overseas in the first half of 2011.
As part of MA's 2011 International Rider Grants program, the funds will be going to the following racers: Bryan Staring (WA, road race); Josh Green (NSW, enduro); Ashley Day (Vic, enduro); Michael Kirkness (NSW, flat track); Cameron Woodward (Vic, long track); Matthew Davies (NSW, junior road race); Arthur Sissis (SA, junior road race); Alexander Phillis (Vic, junior road race); and Kristy Gillespie (NSW, motocross).
The International Rider Grants program sees much-needed funds go to promising Australian racers embarking on the costly exercise of competing overseas - riders like WA's Bryan Staring (pictured), the reigning Australian Superbike champion who is now contesting the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup for Team Pedercini.
MA has also announced that applications for the second round of funding for international competition (between July 1 and December 21) will open shortly. For more information visit the Motorcycling Australia website.
