Light update for 2022 Royal Enfield 650 Twins
The popular Royal Enfield 650 Twins are sporting new looks for 2022Royal Enfield’s barnstorming 650 Twins have been handed a light update, which includes Euro5 compliance and a swag of new colourways.
The 2022 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 have received a number of internal changes to achieve Euro5 emissions compliance, but performance is largely unaffected.

Putting out 47hp (34.6kW) at 7150rpm and 52.3Nm at 5150rpm, the only difference with the 4-stroke parallel twin in the updated models is that the peak torque arrives a little later in the rev range (the previous generation put our 52Nm at 4000rpm).
Elsewhere, the bikes are unchanged, but there is a variety of new colour options to choose from.
The Interceptor 650 is now available in the single tone Canyon Red and Ventura Blue, as well as the dual tone Downtown Drag and Sunset Strip. There is also an updated chrome variant dubbed Mark 2, while the popular Orange Crush (single tone) and Baker Express (dual tone) options are retained.
Royal Enfield has also introduced black rims and mudguards for the single tone variants of the Interceptor 650 – styling features that were previously only available on the dual tone versions.
Meanwhile, the Continental GT 650 reintroduces the iconic Rocker Red (single tone). There is also two new dual tone options – Dux Deluxe and Ventura Storm – as well as the Mister Clean chrome version.
The launch of the 650 Twins in 2018 marked a new era for the British-born, Indian-owned company, with impressive sales across the globe. The Interceptor 650 was awarded the bikesales Retro Bike of the Year in 2020.
Both updated models come with a 3-year, unlimited KM warranty and 3-year roadside assist. They will be available in 51 dealerships across Australian and New Zealand from mid-October 2021.
The new Interceptor 650 checks in at $10,790 ride away, while the new Continental GT 650 is $10,990 ride away. These represent slight increases from the previous generation.
