Legend Blade hits the show circuit

Southern Cross Promotions, organisers of the Australian Motorcycle Expo in Melbourne and Brisbane, have teamed up with Honda Australia to build a show bike called the Legend CBR1000RR Project.

Developed as a tribute bike to Honda Racing Australia and the achievements of World Champions Wayne Gardner and Mick Doohan, the 2006 Fireblade has been airbrushed by Mark Brown from Browns Grafix, and features the artwork of the Australian Flag complete with custom Honda Southern Cross wings.

Both rims have been fully airbrushed as well with the rear wheel providing a tribute to Mick Doohan by listing all of his GP wins and World Championships. The front wheel includes the same details for Wayne Gardner.

According to Mark Petersen, Director Southern Cross Promotions, "Wayne (Gardner) was extremely happy with the bike and was proud to sign his wheel and also the tank," Peterson commented. The bike can be viewed at the Australian Motorcycle Expo, Melbourne, Oct 6-8, and Brisbane, Nov 3 to 5, the Australian MotoGP at Phillip Island, Sandown 500, and the Indy Car Event on the Gold Coast. It will also tour Honda dealers in both Victoria and Queensland.
