LAMS for Western Australia

In a boon for learner riders, the west will finally fall into line with the other Australian states and territories, with the scheme to be introduced at the end of 2012
Western Australia is no longer a Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme (LAMS) pariah, and is set to fall in line with Australia’s other state and territories at the end of 2012.
LAMS will enable learners to ride motorcycles and scooters of a power-to-weight ratio not exceeding 150kW per tonne and an engine capacity of 660cc.
A list of eligible bikes will be displayed on the Western Australian Department of Transport’s website in due course, but the list shouldn’t be too much different from the NSW version.
