Kymco lonex set for Tokyo launch

The company says its solution to being “green without compromise”

Bikesales is off to Tokyo next week for the launch of what Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco is calling a “revolutionary electric vehicle solution that enables riders to embrace electric without compromise”.

Formerly called Project Nex but now set to be launched under the ‘lonex’ moniker, Kymco says it’s succeeded where other manufacturers have failed, and all will be revealed on March 22 at 11:30am local time in Tokyo’s Marriott Hotel.

Kymco is keeping lonex a closely guarded secret and, despite plenty of digging, we’re none the wiser on how it will be cut from a different cloth from other electric fare.

Following the launch, lonex will then move onto the 2018 Tokyo Motorcycle Show, which will be held from March 23-25. While we’re at the show, we’ll also have news and images from some of the other major booths, including what’s sure to include a number of concept vehicles.
