Here’s the latest about to arrive from specialist scooter manufacturer Kymco – the Like 150 R, bringing to double digits the number of scooters it has on the Australian market.
The Like 150 R is definitely right up there in the class performance stakes, with the four-valve single-cylinder engine good for a claimed 13.3hp (9.9Kw).
Kymco has relocated the Like’s fuel tank to lower the centre of gravity, while it has telescopic forks and adjustable twin shock absorbers.
The wheels are 12-inch, and it’s fitted with Bosch ABS.

Modern features include LED lighting, USB charging ports and Kymco’s Noodoe dashboard technology where you can pair your smart phone with the dashboard display. The AK550 maxi scooter also has the same user interface.

The Like 150 R is due to arrive in Australia at the start of May 2018 with a $4290 (plus ORC) price tag. It will be available in three colours: white, red or grey. There is a three-year factory warranty program.
In March 2018, Bikesales attended the launch of Kymco’s ionex electric scooter in Japan. The ionex has a number of nifty features, including the core battery which remains permanently domiciled in the scooter and can be used when the other battery (ies) are being charged – whether at home or at public networks.
The ionex will go on sale in Australia in 2019.
