The famed Erzbergrodeo might have been cancelled this year, but that hasn’t stopped KTM releasing its latest special edition model in celebration of the gruelling hard enduro.
Packing a wide array of special features, the 2022 KTM 300 EXC TPI Erzbergrodeo edition picks up where the previous year’s model left off as the ultimate hard enduro machine.

As well as special Red Bull Erzbergrodeo graphics, the up-spec 300 EXC TPI features an orange-coated frame, factory wheels with anodized hubs, Metzeler 6 Days Extreme rubber, heavy-duty handguards, CNC-machined triple clamps, a Supersprox Stealth rear sprocket, front and rear pull straps, and map selector switch.
The Erzberg-ready machine also includes loads of bike protection parts to cope with extreme conditions and terrain. These parts include radiator fan and radiator protectors, a lightweight skid plate, chain guide bracket protection, clutch save cylinder protection and orange oil plug, front brake disc guard, solid rear disc and disc guard, and a rear brake safety wire.
Naturally, the Erzbergrodeo edition also gains the upgrades to the standard 2022 KTM 300 EXC TPI, including updated WP suspension settings.
“The KTM 300 EXC TPI Erzbergrodeo is a bike 100% built for purpose,” said KTM Product Manager, Joachim Sauer. “That purpose is to tackle the most extreme of trails like those found at the notorious Red Bull Erzbergrodeo.”
The Red Bull Erzbergrodeo began in 1995 and has since become one of the most well-known events on the dirt bike calendar for its brutal terrain. Many riders fail to finish the event – in 2015, only five riders out of 500 completed the course, with the top 4 agreeing to a four-way tie. KTM’s relationship with the event has been fruitful, with the Austrian marque winning 16 times.
The 2022 KTM 300 EXC Erzbergrodeo is set to arrive in KTM dealers worldwide from June 2021, but Australian customers can expect a local arrival in the second half of the year. Pricing is yet to be announced but, for reference, the 2021 model checked in at $19,445 ride away.
