KTM reveals new-look 2022 enduro team

Australian off-road legends, Stefan Granquist and Emelie Karlsson will join the KTM family in 2022

KTM has revealed a new-look rider line-up for its enduro team, with Stefan Granquist and Emelie Karlsson signing with the orange brigade for 2022.

Following the departure of reigning AORC champion Daniel Milner at the end of last year, KTM has looked to Granquist and Karlsson to fill the void.

For 2022, Granquist will pilot the KTM 500 EXC-F in the E3 class of the AORC and Australian Four-Day Enduro. He’ll also line up at the Hattah Desert Race. Karlsson, meanwhile, will ride the KTM 350 EXC-F in the AORC, where she is one of the top riders in the Women’s All Powers class.

Granquist and Karlsson, who both have Swedish heritage (Karlsson was born there), have been regulars in the Australian off-road scene since 2011. They have each had a long affiliation with Yamaha, but are looking forward to new experiences and challenges with KTM.

“It’s definitely an honour to ride for KTM and it’s something I’ve always been striving for,” said Granquist. I tend to have a smoother riding style and being able to use the torque of the 500 EXC-F is something that really suits me.”

Karlsson has battled multiple injuries in recent years, but she still manage to achieve consistently good results. She is excited about starting a new era with a new manufacturer.

“It’s exciting and a breath of fresh air to have signed with KTM,” she said. “It’s been a good change and it’s super-exciting to race a different bike and capacity, and to have access to the KTM factory resources.”

The pair will begin their 2022 campaign with KTM at the opening AORC round, which is scheldued for March 19-20 at Cherrabah, Queensland.
