KTM races to sales records

The Austrian brand has reached new sales and revenue highs for 2015

KTM achieved a record year for global sales and revenue in 2015 with the Austrian brand exceeding the billion-euro ($1.58b) sales mark for the first time in its 80-year history.

The €1.02b ($A1.61b) result represents an 18 percent increase over KTM’s 2014 result and is the fifth consecutive year the European brand has recorded growth in both its sales and revenue performance.

Unit sales were up by 14 percent in 2015 compared to the same period in 2014 with 180,801 units (KTM and Husqvarna-branded bikes) sold around the world in the 12-month period.

The brand also says employment is at an all-time high. Around the world, the KTM group recorded 2515 employees on its books as of the end of 2015, an increase of 372 people compared to the same time last year, of which 338 of the new employees are based in the brand’s Austrian head-quarters at Mattighofen.

European brand Ducati also recorded a record growth for the 2015 calendar year with its 54,800 unit sales representing a 22 percent increase over its 2014 global sales result of 45,117.
