KTM digitally launches updated 2021 SX range

KTM has pulled the covers off its 2021 motocross range, with updates across both four-stroke and two-stroke models

KTM has launched its 2021 SX range in a digital presentation broadcast on YouTube. The updated SX range features a number of changes over both four-stroke and two-stroke models.

As is common for off-road bikes, KTM trialled changes to the range during the 2019 racing season. Cooper Webb won the 2019 AMA Supercross Championship aboard the KTM 450 SX-F, while Jorge Prado won the 2019 MX2 World Championship aboard the KTM 250 SX-F. The KTM SX range also dominated the 2019 FIM Junior World Motocross Championship.

Improvements for 2021 across the full-size range focus on suspension and chassis modifications, tweaks to the engine architecture to further enhance reliability and a re-worked graphics kit.

The WP XACT front fork and rear shock has been overhauled with new components as well as being reconfigured with a slightly firmer standard setting to increase confidence and comfort across a wider spread of surfaces. Dunlop Geomax MX-33 tyres have also been added for versatility and race-proven performance.

The flagship 2021 KTM 450 SX-F benefits from modifications to the piston, crankshaft, engine casing, rocker arms and shift locker to further improve the bikes reliability, shave weight and aid practicality.

One of the biggest changes to the full-size four-stroke range (450 SX-F, 350 SX-F and 250 SX-F) is the addition of connectivity via the myKTM app and optional Connectivity Unit kit. The Connectivity Unit integrates into the bar-pad and allows riders to personalise their machine via their smartphone.

The two-stroke models in the 2021 SX range features a fresh piston and clutch internals for the 125 SX and 150 SX. The KTM Sportminicycle range also gets a number of minor updates for 2021.

For 2021, the Austrian manufacturer wanted to ensure its motocross range met two core objectives: to create the lightest, best-handling, most powerful, useable and well-equipped bikes on the market, as well as providing riders of all ages and abilities the exact technical package they require.

The 2021 KTM SX range will be available at KTM dealers worldwide from June 2020 onwards. For more info head to www.ktm.com/au or visit your local KTM dealership.
