KTM 890 Adventure revealed for 2021

The new KTM 890 Adventure joins the previously-announced KTM 890 Adventure R

KTM has added a more traditional dual-sport offering to its new 890 line-up, with the Austrian firm unveiling the new 2021 KTM 890 Adventure overnight.

Following the recent reveal of the 2021 KTM 890 Adventure R and KTM 890 Adventure R Rally, the base KTM 890 Adventure offers slightly more road-bias compared to its off-road focused siblings.

Built using DNA from the current 790 Adventure, KTM claims that the new 890 Adventure adds more power, improved handling, extra suspension adjustability, and the latest electronic technology.

The 2021 KTM 890 Adventure is powered by a compact 889cc twin-cylinder engine that puts out 105hp and 100Nm of torque. KTM claims the 20% extra rotating mass of the crankshaft brings improved feeling at lower revs and also assists with cornering ability.

Suspension is handled by premium WP gear, with a new WP APEX rear shock offering greater adjustability. And with 200mm of suspension travel front and rear, the 890 Adventure is still more than capable of hitting the dirt when the tarmac ends.

Other features include adventure-spec tires, a full-size TFT dash, cornering ABS, traction control, motor slip regulation, adjustable seat height and a lightweight and strong subframe for pillion passengers or luggage.

Through the KTM Power Parts catalogue, riders can also add cruise control, a quick shifter, heated seat, heated grips and luggage capabilities.

Like the 890 Adventure R, the 890 Adventure is expected to arrive in Australia and New Zealand in April 2021. Local pricing is yet to be announced.
