KTM has revealed details of its 2023 KTM 450 SMR, the supermoto model boasting a revised chassis, a reworked single-cylinder engine and new suspension, capped off with a distinctive new colour scheme.
The updated model features a hydro-formed, laser-cut and robot-welded frame that has been refined for even greater sensitivity and performance, with altered rates of longitudinal and lateral flex delivering an even finer level of feedback.
Powering the show is a reworked 449cc SOHC single-cylinder engine said to produce 63hp. The unit features new cylinder internals and is tilted back in the frame for better mass centralisation, its output sprocket now 3mm lower.
A total weight saving of 500g means the engine weighs in at just 27kg, while it’s mated to a redesigned PANKL five-speed transmission and SUTER slipper clutch, while also fitted with a unidirectional quickshifter (upshifts only) as standard.
