KTM 125 naked bike

The learner-friendly KTM naked bike edges closer to its official launch, with new video of the bike in action

We've got another sneak peek at KTM's upcoming 125cc naked bike for you, which is shaping up very nicely indeed.

Showing off an edgy new design that bodes well for KTM's future model line-up, the compact naked bike will be the first of many new models in a learner-friendly range.

KTM originally asked the public to name the new entry-level motorcycle via its Facebook page, and has now released a new video of the bike in action.

This new video has first broke cover at KTMs social media website and shows the new model skidding, cruising, and generally tooling about between montages of testing, research and development of the 125, including one shot showing the engine revving to almost 10,000rpm.

Expected to hit the streets in Europe in early 2011, the new model has not been confirmed for Australia yet. Power comes from a 125cc single-cylinder engine with dual overhead cams, and output is expected to be kept to around 15hp, to ensure learner-legality in the EU.

Originally shown as a concept bike at the 2009 EICMA event in Italy, the new KTM 125 naked bike will be the first model in a fresh new range of entry-level street bikes, which will begin with the 125cc powerplant and top out with engine sizes of around 300 to 350cc.

The stylish new naked bike is expected to be officially launched at the 2010 EICMA show. Check out the video below to get a better idea of how the upcoming LAMS motorcycle will look. And sound.
