Kraus' Kyrgyz custom motorcycle

American custom shop designs freakishly intricate motorcycle with no brake or clutch levers!

We've seen custom motorcycles before, from choppers to bobbers and plenty of cafe racers too, but never anything like this.

Pushing the boundaries of what a custom bike can be, Satya Kraus' latest creation is striking, to say the least.

This Kraus Motor Company design is called the Kyrgyz and features a number of unique design cues which, combined, create a visual tour-de-force.

Take the rear end for instance - it features a design that shows off the look of a rigid rear end, but has 63mm of suspension travel. A small gas spring shock is tucked away in the top rear of the frame, giving the motorcycle a classy look without the drawback of a spine-shatteringly stiff ride quality.

With no electric start, the Kyrgyz is powered by a Panhead engine that sits within "the small, tight geometry of a one of a kind nickle metal sprayed frame," says Kraus Motor Co. The twin exhaust outlets are also positioned at interesting angles, and look as though they could warm up your left leg.

Another eye-catching design element of the Kyrgyz are its raked out front forks, topped with classic bicycle-inspired handlebars. And to give the bike a clean look there are no clutch or brake levers. Instead both handgrips are twistable, with the left hand operating the clutch and the right hand appling throttle and brake depending on whether it's pulled back or twisted forward.

It's an unusual take on engine control, but one that Satya Kraus has used on previous custom motorcycles.

It's not just the attention to detail on this motorcycle that is staggering, it's the way it's been designed, from the unorthodox suspension setup to the positioning of the oil tank (where the fuel tank usually resides). The tiny 7.5lt fuel tank is located under the seat.

The Kraus Motor Co, located in Northern California, has an amusing little link on its website saying "If you have to ask the price, don't click here." Gulp...
