Kiwi Indian revival

Kiwi Motorcycles in the USA is now making complete Indian Chief replicas, using an in-house 84 cubic inch (1370cc) 'flathead' powerplant.

The company started out making individual bits for the legendary American brand and ended up in a position where it had a big enough catalogue to build a complete machine.

Started by New Zealander Mike Tomas, the firm also does restorations.

The Chief replica, called the Kiwi Retro, is priced at US$45,000 in stock form, but there are numerous options and upgrades on offer. Buyers can also opt for a self-assemble kit version.

The engine/gearbox unit is also sold separately, priced at US$14,000. See www.kiwiindian.com
