Kawasaki Australia’s official stunt rider Jamie ‘JB’ Baker has unveiled the modified Kawasaki ZX-6R 636 stunt machine on which he’ll use during his 2017 freestyle riding campaign.
Kawasaki became the latest Aussie manufacturer to form an association with a factory-supported stunt rider earlier this year, signing the 27-year-old South Australian as its official rider. The move follows on from the likes of KTM and Yamaha who have a strong presence in the stunt scene with their respective riders, Lukey Luke and Dave McKenna.
Baker, who also stunts a Kawasaki-branded jet ski, said he completed the majority of the modifications required himself and only outsourced the dyno runs, computer tuning and the reprogramming of the fuel system.

“We are taking a road bike and making it do things it’s not really designed to do, so making sure everything is dialled in is very crucial,” he said. “Once all of that was figured out we really learnt what these Ninja ZX-6R 636 motorcycles are capable of,” he said.
