Kawasaki’s all-new Z900RS is now on dealer floors in Australia, priced at $17,999 rideaway in one livery only – Candytone Brown /Candytone Orange (aka Jaffa).
Meanwhile, the Z900RS Cafe variant is expecting it to be available in Australia form late February, 2018.
The neo-retro Z900RS, first unveiled at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show, is based on the Z900 has been modified to hit its power peak at lower revs. The Z900RS's 948cc in-line four-cylinder engine produces a claimed 111hp at 8500rpm and 98Nm at 6500rpm, and it has riding modes and traction control. Weight is 215kg.
First gear is shorter than the Z900, and the top gear (sixth) is taller.
There’s a new trellis frame, while the ergonomics have been altered with a wider and taller handlebar and repositioned footpegs all in the name of promoting a more upright riding position.

The styling is faithful to the 1970s Kawasaki Z1 look, with the DNA including the teardrop tank, slim tail unit and one-piece seat.
There are radial brake calipers, dual analogue gauges, a round headlight, LED illumination, oval brake light and a stainless steel exhaust with a hidden catalytic converter.
