Kawasaki Versys-X 300

The new adventure bike – yet another in the sub-500cc bracket – will make its Aussie debut at the 2016 Moto Expo Melbourne

Kawasaki has confirmed its Versys-X 300 adventure bike will be going on sale in Australia, and it will be making its debut Down Under at 2016 Moto Expo Melbourne from November 25-27.

The Versys-X uses the Ninja 300 parallel-twin engine, which is mounted in a new backbone frame. There's long travel suspension, and it has 19/17-inch spoked wheels.

The bike has an assist and slipper clutch, a large windshield and a 17-litre fuel tank. Accessories include engine guards – just about a necessity to protect the bodywork – hard panniers, LED fog lamps, DC outlet, handguards, centrestand, tank bag and high seat (up by 25mm).

The Versys-X 300 joins a gaggle of sub-500cc bikes pushing the new adventure theme, including the Honda CRF250L Rally and BMW G 310 GS.

The Versys-X will takes its place on the Kawasaki stand alongside a number of other new and updates bikes at Moto Expo Melbourne, including the Z650L, Z900, Ninja 650/650L and Ninja 1000.
