Kawasaki Versys 1000: $15,999

The new bike, a big brother to the Versys ABS 650, brings one-litre power to the adventure bike market, with a swirl of technology to boot
Kawasaki’s all-new Versys 1000 adventure bike is now on sale in Australia for $15,999.
Set to square off against the likes of the Honda Crossrunner ($14,990) and Triumph Tiger 1050 SE ($16,490), the Versys 1000 is closely based in the existing Z1000 and Ninja 1000 ABS, using the same engine and a lightly modified frame.
Many of the engine tweaks, such as new combustion chambers and cams, smaller throttle bodies, and different engine mapping, were made to increase fuel economy, in recognition of the fact that riders of these bikes rate range very highly.
The Versys 1000’s electronics package is impressive, featuring a three-mode KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control), ABS and two-mode power selection. Other features include 150mm suspension travel, spacious and upright riding position, 17-inch wheels, and adjustable windscreen.
Colour option is limited though – to Pearl Stardust White. Contact your local Kawasaki dealer for more information.
