Kawasaki pulls out of the club scene

Kawasaki Australia has pulled down the shutters on its two locally based clubs -- Kawasaki Riders and Team Green -- and as it seeks to allocate funds into other projects.
A statement announcing the pull-out was posted on its website (here) on January 15, with the company quick to reassure members that any future activities, such as demo rider days, retail promotions, racing news and model information will be channelled through the website and via its dealer network.
The statement continued: "Kawasaki would like to thank all of the Riders' Club and Team Green members for their support of the brand. Kawasaki realises that in the case of some members, this support has been ongoing for many years.
"Riders Club and Team Green members affected by the suspension of the clubs may be pleased to know that Kawasaki is heading in an exciting direction in 2009 and seeks your continued support as we motor through this economically challenging period."
