Kawasaki KX327: First footage released, pricing revealed

Kawasaki's return to the two-stroke motocross segment is becoming a reality with Jeremy McGrath starring in the first action footage of the fuel-injected KX327

Kawasaki has released the first public footage of its hotly anticipated KX327 two-stroke motocross bike, with the new machine set to arrive in Australia in 2027 priced from $14,944.

Supercross legend Jeremy McGrath stars in the promotional video, which also features GNCC icon Steward Baylor, multi-time Supercross champion Ryan Villopoto and freeride star Axell Hodges.

The time-warping video is set to a 1998 punk classic by New York hardcore band Grey Area and, for some fans, may evoke memories of McGrath’s legendary video part in Fox’s Terrafirma 2, in which he rode a Honda CR250R two-stroke.

The new Kawasaki KX327 was revealed in June and is powered by a 327cc fuel-injected two-stroke engine with electric start. The Japanese brand says it will also feature a map switch and smartphone connectivity.

There will be two versions of the bike, with the standard KX327 aimed at close-course motocross competition and the KX327X designed as a cross-country bike better suited to enduro-style riding.

The main difference between the two models is the transmission, with the X version offering a six-speed gearbox compared with the motocross version’s five-speed unit. The X will also feature a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel combination, increased fuel capacity and protective bodywork.

Kawasaki Australia expects the bikes to arrive Down Under in the first quarter of 2027. The KX327 will start at $14,944, while the KX327X will be priced at $15,944.
