Kawasaki KLX450R recalled

Due to a possible weak weld issue, the KLX450R's chain has the potential to derail from the rear sprocket

The ACCC has issued a recall notice for all Kawasaki KLX450R (company code: KLX450ABF) motorcycles imported between May and July 2010.

The recall affects KLX450Rs nationally and concerns a chain guide bracket that has not been properly welded to the swingarm.

This can result in weld cracking and in the worst case scenario, the chain can derail from the rear sprocket which creates "the potential for a crash to occur" reads the ACCC media statement.

Owners should contact their authorised Kawasaki dealer, where repairs will conducted free of charge.
