Kawasaki joins Showtime FMX team
Currently in its 12th year, the hard-charging Showtime FMX team has switched from Yamaha to Kawasaki in 2011
Kawasaki this week announced that is has formally joined forces with the Showtime FMX freestyle team, which has been going for 11 years. With something like 200 freestyle performances per year, it's a very busy outfit.
So now Yamaha is out and Kawasaki is in, forming the Monster Energy Showtime FMX Kawasaki freestyle team.
The Showtime FMX team is credited as being the "most prolific and successful freestyle MX team in the southern hemisphere," and performs in everything from small rural shows to large audiences such as the sold out Nitro Circus events and V8 Supercar rounds.
The riders will need time to get used to the new Kawasaki KX motorcycles, but the team is chuffed to have the Green Team on board, as Gary Reid, who started the Showtime FMX team in 2000, explained.
"I’m very excited about the partnership with Kawasaki. Showtime FMX has worked very hard over the last 12 years and we now look forward to this next chapter with Kawasaki and Monster Energy.
"Our team riders, Steve Mini, Matty McFerran and Brad Burch love the new 2011 KXs and find them very balanced in the air and freestyle friendly. We’re very excited with the whole new look of the team thanks to the addition of Kawasaki and Monster Energy and our brand new range of Jet Pilot signature merchandise that is currently in production."
