Kawasaki's H2 release is edging closer – Cologne on September 30 – and we're slowly building a picture of what type of machine will be unveiled.
The latest video, the first action one after four previous rhetoric-laden instalments, appears to lean towards a full-on sportsbike, judging by the speed and commitment it's taking the cambered corner and straight at.
It's difficult to make too much out, but the video reveals a very compact supersport-sized machine that can carve chunks out of apexes, but one which we expect will leave a normally aspirated 600 four (or 675 triple for that matter) ashen-faced with its level of performance.
References in the videos continue to be made to the three-cylinder H2 Mach IV sportsbike of the 1970s, so perhaps we're looking at a supercharged (or perhaps turbocharged) triple after all. Capacity is also keeping us guessing, but even a 600cc machine would hum. Will it be a 750? 1000? Perhaps one-litre may be pushing the performance envelope too far.
We're still reading between the lines, but the hype is getting to us…
