Kawasaki and Kelly gang up

KLX450R for the Bathurst champion

If you are a prospective V8 Supercar driver, I suggest you take up dirtbike riding, or a least feign an interest.

Because it’s going to be a great way of breaking the ice with your fellow drivers, many of whom take their dirtbiking very seriously.

Those to enjoy the pursuit include Craig Lowndes, Cameron McConville, Steve Richards, Rick Kelly, Todd Kelly, Russell Ingall and Greg Murphy. And there are probably lots more.

Lowndes is currently making noises about racing in next year’s Finke Desert Race, so he’s obviously got some passion.

Many of those drivers have sponsorship arrangements with manufacturers, and Todd Kelly is the latest to sign n the dotted line, this time with Kawasaki to ride its KLX4509R enduro bike

“Due to my racing schedule, I haven’t had a chance to fully enjoy the KLX450R but from the time I have spent on it, I’m very impressed,” said Todd. “I’m very happy to have Kawasaki on board as a personal sponsor and look forward to working with them in the future.”

Todd won the 2005 Bathurst 1000 with his sibling, Rick.
