Jett Lawrence has confirmed he will switch to the 450 class for the upcoming Pro Motocross season after wrapping up his 250cc career with a fourth AMA championship.
The Australian prodigy secured the AMA Supercross 250 West title in Denver just a week after his older brother and Honda HRC teammate Hunter won the 250 East title.
"What a way to finish my 250 career," Lawrence said in a social media post. "One more left on the 250 this weekend in SLC, then onto the next chapter in a month's time at Pala."
Lawrence has triumphed three times previously, winning the 2022 AMA Supercross 250 East title and 2021 and 2022 AMA Pro Motocross 250 titles.
The Queenslander has already dabbled in 450cc motocross, riding a Honda CRF450R at the Motocross of Nations in 2022. He had previously indicated he was ready to move up to the 450 class in America, and reaffirmed that division following his recent championship victory.
Lawrence has been in fine form so far in 2023, with his nearest rival, RJ Hampshire, now unable to catch him in the championship race with one round remaining.
The two Lawrence brothers will face off in the East/West Showdown at the final round of the 2023 AMA Supercross Championships in Salt Lake City.
Honda HRC is in the perfect position to make it three from three, with Chase Sexton leading the 450 title race heading into the final round. His closest rival Eli Tomac failed to finish in Denver after suffering a lower leg injury.
