Jason Anderson for 2018 AUS-X Open

The reigning world supercross champion will return to Sydney to defend his crown

American Jason Anderson will defend his Monster Energy AUS-X Open crown at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on November 10.

The 25-year-old is the reigning AMA and world supercross champion, but is currently out of action with a compound fracture to his foot after a motocross training incident on his Husqvarna.

However, he’ll be fit and raring to go by AUS-X Open time, where his opposition will include Aussie icon Chad Reed.

“To be the first current world supercross champion heading to Sydney for the AUS-X Open is cool and I’m looking forward to it, it’s going to be a great time,” said Anderson.

“Hopefully I head home with the AUS-X crown again this year, and have an epic battle with the main guys Down Under, especially Chad Reed.

“To beat Reedy on his home soil is gonna be tough, I’m going to need really good starts and race hard to make sure I keep in front of him in Sydney.”

The AUS-X Open Sydney will also double as the fifth and final round of the 2018 Australian Supercross Championship.
