Jake Moss pulls the pin at Kawasaki

The MX2 rider has decided to step away from motocross and supercross racing, for circumstances that aren't entirely clear...

Kawasaki Australia has issued a release announcing the departure of Jake Moss from its factory-backed motocross and supercross team.

The release says that Jake has tendered his resignation after "deciding to focus on his family and career away from competitive motocross and supercross racing".

The decision by Jake, Kawasaki's MX2 rider, follows the mysterious non-appearance of him and his twin brother Matt – also a rider under the National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team banner in the MX1 category – from the last two rounds of the 2016 MX Nationals at Conondale and Shepparton.

An official reason is yet to be disseminated from Kawasaki, Motorcycling Australia and/or the MX Nationals promoter regarding the no-shows.

In the release, Jake said that he "greatly enjoyed" his time with Kawasaki, and hasn't closed the door on returning to championship action one day.

The National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team will continue to compete in the MX1 only for the remainder of the 2016 MX Nationals campaign, but it's still unclear whether Matt will return to competition to ride alongside the other incumbent, Kade Mosig.
