Jack Miller is on the move after inking a deal with KTM for the next two MotoGP seasons. The Australian rider will partner with South Africa’s Brad Binder on RC16 machinery.
The 27-year-old has previous experience with the Austrian brand, having finished second in the 2014 Moto3 World Championship. He will look to replicate that success from next year onwards.
Miller has spent the past two years at the Ducati Lenovo factory team, but has so far only managed two wins and seven podiums in that time.
His premier class career started in 2015 with the CWM LCR Honda team, before stints with EG 0,0 Marc VDS and Pramac Racing. His total premier class results include three wins and 17 podiums.
The Australian currently sits 9th in the 2022 MotoGP World Championship, while his best finish in the title race was 4th in 2021.
Rumours about a potential move to KTM have been circulating for some time, but KTM has finally confirmed the news. Miller will finish the 2022 season with Ducati before switching to orange.
“Having Jack alongside Brad in our team means we have another strong asset,” said KTM team manager, Francesco Guidotti. “I know him well, I know how he likes to work and what he can bring to the box.”
KTM Motorsports director Pit Beirer was also pleased to have Miller back at KTM. “Of course we’ve known Jack since he made a boom with Aki and our Moto3 program and it’s a big pleasure to bring a rider of his capabilities into our MotoGP structure,” said Beirer.
Millers signing makes to Australian MotoGP riders under the KTM banner with Remy Gardner making his debut with Tech3 KTM earlier this year.
