Aussie factory KTM rider Jack Miller was again on the pace during a three-day pre-season test at Jerez in Spain last week, concluding the outing with another record lap.
Miller pushed ahead of his rivals with a 1:46.046 in the final session of the week, ahead of Czech rider Jakub Kornfeil (KTM, 1:46.256), Niccolo Antonelli (KTM, 1:46.452) and 2013 Red Bull Rookies champion Karel Hanika (KTM, 1:46.645).
Danny Kent, returning to Moto3 after a year in Moto2, was fifth with a best lap of 1:46.646 on his Husqvarna.
“We were able to put in laps consistently, which was our main goal,” said Miller. “I felt very comfortable on the bike, KTM brought us plenty of stuff to try out and I enjoyed myself on the bike.”
Miller’s countryman and great mate Arthur Sissis was 21st on the Mahindra with a time of 1:47.854. Thirty-three riders took part in the tests.
