A high-spec version of the Italjet Dragster 200 has arrived in Australia, with the exclusive Malossi Edition boasting a striking co-branded livery.
Malossi is a renowned Italian performance parts specialist that produces tuning parts for mopeds and scooters. The company was founded in 1930 and is based in Bologna, the same town where the original incarnation of Italjet was born.
The Dragster 200 Malossi Edition was unveiled at EICMA last year, while the original machine debuted in Australia in early 2022. The special up-spec Malossi Edition is now available locally for $10,490 ride away. The regular Dragster 200 checks in at $9990 ride away.
Featuring a 181cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine built by Piaggio and a dry weight of 112kg, the Dragster 200 puts out 17.4hp at 8250rpm and 15.5Nm at 6250rpm. The bike also has EFI, a CVT with automatic centrifugal multiplate wet clutch, and adjustable front and rear suspension.
One other unique feature is the independent steering system which separates the steering, braking, and suspension in a bid to provide improved stability and less vibration.
Italjet also offers a wide range of optional performance and tuning parts designed for race use. These include transmission upgrades, big-bore cylinder kits, aftermarket exhausts, and fuel injection modules. These parts are available from a dealer network across all Australian states and territories except for Tasmania and the Northern Territory.
The Dragster 200 debuted in concept form at the 2018 edition of EICMA and acts as a modern version of the original Dragster model that was popular in the late-’90s. Like the original, it features a trellis frame and centre hub steering.
