Italian Alex Salvini has confirmed he’ll return downunder to defend his E1 title at the 2012 Yamaha WR450F Australian Four-Day Enduro (A4DE) in Warragul (Vic) from October 24-27.
Salvini, currently running sixth in the world E2 class with two rounds remaining, will link up with the local distributor-backed Husqvarna team for his A4DE assault, where he’ll be up against some of Australia’s fiercest competitors including Ben Burrell (Motorex KTM Off-Road), Daniel Milner (Ballard’s Yamaha Off-Road), Josh Green (Active8 Yamaha Yamalube) and former world enduro champion Stefan Merriman (Ballard’s Yamaha Off-Road).
Also on the start line for the 2012 A4DE will be a superb list of names including Chris Hollis (Motorex KTM Off-Road), Matthew Phillips (Ballard’s Yamaha Off-Road) and defending outright champion Toby Price (Motorex KTM Off-Road).
“The Victorian Government is pleased to be supporting the Australian Four-Day Enduro, and welcome the news that... Alex Salvini will be part of this fantastic event,” said Victorian Minister for Sport and Recreation Hugh Delahunty.
“I encourage all Victorians to make the most of the opportunity to see one of the best in action.”
