The Ulysses Motorcycle Club Apprentice of the Year award was announced recently at the club's AGM at Coffs Harbour. The gong went to Michael Donnelly of Inverell Motorcycles (NSW).
The award was backed by the Federal Chamber of Automoitve Industries (FCAI), which did the selection, and Aprilia, which provided the major prize of a tasty RS125.
Michael was one of three shortlisted finalists chosen by FCAI Motorcycle Division Manager Ray Newland, each of whom gained a prize of $2000-worth of tools from Repco and Sidchrome.
Ray said, "This year's competition was particularly fierce with each finalist exhibiting superb competency, excellent marks in examinations and good levels of professionalism and character."
John Sample Automotive's National Sales Manager, Ezio Forcella presented Michael with his Aprilia RS125 in front of the 6000 plus assembled Ulyssians
"Michael is a deserving recipient of this award and John Sample Automotive is pleased to support the future of the motorcycle industry in this way. We'll be back next year in Townsville and I look forward to supporting this initiative again and seeing you all there," he said.
Michael's pleasure at receiving the award showed through his smiling features as he sat on his new motorcycle.
"I'm stoked to win the bike and the tools and can't thank the Ulysses Club, Aprilia, Repco and Ray for picking me as the winner enough. Thanks everyone," he declared.
