The Australian Supercross Championship has added two massive names to its 2023 rider line-up, with the three-round series kicking off in November.
AMA Supercross stars Dean Wilson and Max Anstie will join the Yarrive Konsky-led Boost Mobile Honda team for all three rounds of the 2023 championship.
Wilson, who hails from Scotland, has previously competed in the now-defunct AUS-X Open event, however 2023 will mark his full-time debut in the local championship.
“I am really excited to see parts of Australia I have never seen and race for an Australian Supercross Championship,” said Wilson. “Justin Brayton has achieved some amazing success Down Under, and one of my goals is to win an Australian Supercross Championship.”
Meanwhile, Britain’s Max Anstie will look to defend his 2022 Australian SX2 title following a career-best third in AMA Supercross 250 West championship, and second in the inaugural WSX SX2 championship.
“I had a blast in Australia last year and was so stoked to be able to win the championship for Honda, Yarrive and our team,” said Anstie. “This year has been the best of my career and I’m looking forward to bringing that momentum back to Newcastle, Melbourne and Adelaide this year.”
The 2023 Australian Supercross Championship will run across three rounds with McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle, Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, and Wayville Showground in Adelaide acting as the three host venues.
Round two at Marvel Stadium will be run in conjunction with the final round of the 2023 WSX Championship, which returns for the second year in a row. WSX is run by SX Global, which in turn was born from the Australian Supercross promoter, AME Management.
