Suzuki has presented its latest iteration of the Bandit 1250S sportstourer at the Intermot expo in Cologne, Germany.
A perennial value-packed favourite among the sportstouring set, the returning model -- it was dropped from Suzuki's line-up last year -- bears all the hallmarks of a capable point-to-point machine, with a beefy 1255cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine, a six-speed transmission, a comfortable riding position and large 19-litre fuel tank.
Topping the update is a revised half-fairing that wraps around the radiator sides and is vented just below the headlight. In addition to sharpening the Bandit's look, Suzuki says the fairing delivers improved wind protection and therefore enhanced riding comfort.
Braking is handled by full floating 310mm-diameter dual front brake discs with Tokico four-piston calipers and a 240mm-diameter rear disc brake with a Nissin single-piston caliper, the package backed by ABS.
The Bandit 1250S's rear Showa monoshock with progressive, rising-rate link system is complemented by a 43mm conventional fork. The monoshock is adjustable for rebound and preload, while fork adjustment is limited to preload only.
The seat height can be adjusted up or down by 20mm while the pillion grabrail incorporates hooks to assist in tying down soft luggage.
The model also comes fitted with a centrestand as standard.
Backed by Suzuki's two-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, the 2015 Bandit 1250S will be available in Australia in late autumn 2015, with pricing and colours to be confirmed closer to its local release.
