Intermot show: new Triumph Bonnevilles

Three in fact: the Land Speed, Sprint and Newchurch, with just a 1000 production run on the former

Triumph unveiled a trio of new Bonnevilles at the 2015 Intermot motorcycle show in Cologne. They are as follows:

T214 LAND SPEED LIMITED EDITION

The Limited Edition Bonneville T214 celebrates the achievements of Texas-born racer Johnny Allen and his record-breaking Triumph-powered methanol-fed Cee-Gar streamliner. On September 6, 1956, Allen set the first of many land speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats with a two-way average of 214.4mph.

The record lasted until 1962 when it was broken by Bill Johnson riding the nitro methane-powered Dudek Triumph streamliner to a speed of 224.57mph

The T214 Land Speed Limited Edition, based on the T100 Black, has a hand-painted Caspian Blue and Pure White colour scheme complete with red and white chequer detailing which echoes that of the Cee-Gar. The blue front mudguard shares the same white star motif from the nose cone of the iconic streamliner. The shortened rear mudguard combined with blacked out wheel rims, handlebars, and rear suspension springs add to the authentic look, which is complemented with red seat stitching detail and a smaller front headlight.

BONNEVILLE SPIRIT SPECIAL EDITION

According to Triumph, the Bonneville Spirit “captures the style and effortless cool of the 1950s Bonneville, but of course adds the benefit of up-to-date engineering to create a new classic British twin for the 21st century”.

There’s a Spirit Blue/New England White livery, white stitching on the seat cover, while Jet Black paint that has been applied to the side panel and front mudguard. In favour of the traditional chrome Triumph badge, the latest Triumph script has been used on the fuel tank.

The handlebars, mirror housings, engine covers, wheel rims and hubs have all been blackened, while stubby silencers from the Bonneville, a compact black headlight from the Scrambler and a rear mudguard from the Thruxton complete the look.

The beating heart of the Bonneville Spirit remains the 865cc parallel twin engine.

The Bonneville Spirit will be available in Triumph dealerships from April 2015 at a price to be confirmed.

BONNEVILLE NEWCHURCH SPECIAL EDITION

Every year a small town in the mountains of Austria plays host to the world's biggest Triumph party. In doing so, Neukirchen has its name changed to Newchurch for the weeklong Tridays party.

To celebrate this passion and energy, Triumph has produced the new Bonneville Newchurch Special Edition. This new model features new paint schemes, a new low profile seat and black detailing.

The petrol tanks are a new design that sports the new Triumph logo. Available in a choice of Cranberry Red/Pure White or Sapphire Blue/Pure White, the Bonneville Newchurch also wears blacked-out mudguards, headlamp bowl, handlebars, mirrors and springs. Finishing off the transformation are black seven-spoke cast wheels featuring a hand-painted pinstriped coachline.

The Bonneville Newchurch will be available from April 2015, with no price as yet.
