As well as unveiling the show-stopping Katana for 2019, Suzuki used the Intermot motorcycle show in Germany to announce some minor changes to its two-tiered GSX-R1000 range for the forthcoming model year.
The top-spec GSX-R1000R gains an adjustable swingarm pivot for the first time, offering racers and track-day nuts far more refinement in terms of finding a race setup, as well as making braided-steel brake hoses a standard affair.
On the less-expensive Suzuki GSX-R1000, the quickshifter and auto-blipper that has been standard on the up-spec R model and an option on the base-model, will be fitted as standard on both machines from 2019 onwards. Both machine’s exhaust silencers will be painted black for 2019 and will feature a new aluminium heat shield.
Power and torque remain unchanged at 199hp (149kW) and 118Nm, while claimed weight for each machine is 202kg for the base model and 203kg for the top-spec R version.
