Motorcycles shows took a hit during the COVID-19 pandemic, but things are looking up with the announcement that Intermot will be held annually from this December.
The long-running exhibition is held in Cologne, Germany, and will take place from December 5-8, 2024. Previously, Intermot was held every second year. It was last held in 2022, but was cancelled due to the pandemic in 2020, meaning only one edition has been held since 2018.
Intermot joins EICMA as one of the world’s leading motorcycle exhibitions. EICMA is held annually in Milan in early November.

Registrations for the Intermot 2024 are yet to open, but BMW, Kawasaki, and Yamaha have already announced their intentions to participate.
With electric and alternatives to fossil fuels becoming an increasing area of innovation and discussion, automotive shows appear to be coming back into relevance after years of diminishing exhibitors and crowds.
The EICMA show continues to be a major event on the calendar, while the Tokyo Mobility Show in late 2023 also proved to be an important occasion for the industry. Many of the big automotive shows, including Detroit, Geneva, and Paris have recovered from the pandemic, while locally the inaugural Melbourne EV Show was a hit in 2023.
