Triumph used the 2018 Intermot motorcycle show in Cologne to announce updates to its 2019 Street Twin and Street Scrambler models. The beg news is an 18 per cent hike in peak power, up a claimed 10hp to 65hp, achieved with a higher rpm thanks to lighter engine internals. Peak torque remains unchanged at 80Nm.
As well as more poke, both models have been given a new clutch and lighter engine covers, revised switchable engine modes (Road and Rain) and the existing two-piston Nissin calipers have been replaced with Brembo four-piston affairs.
There’s a higher-spec front fork, tweaked ergonomics and a thicker, more comfortable seat. Visually, updates are limited with the Street Twin receiving updated detailing on its cast aluminium wheels, tweaked instruments and a redesigned log, while the Street Scrambler gains the same updated instruments, a new logo, a wider-spaced front fork and a new seat finish.
The options lists are longer, too, starting with tyre pressure monitoring as well as over 140 genuine accessories.
Triumph has preselected a range of accessories to form two kits: the Urban Ride or Cafe Custom which, as their names imply, give the standard Bonneville-based machines either a blacked-out or old-school theme.
The 2019 Street Twin will be available in Matt Ironstone, Korosi red or Jet black colour schemes, while the Street Scrambler will be offered in Fusion white, Cranberry red or a Khaki green and matte aluminium finish.
