Insure My Ride to close
The internet-based dedicated motorcycle insurance company has announced it won't be issuing new policies from February 23, 2017Suncorp-owned motorcycle insurance company My Ride has announced its impending closure, and won't be issuing insurance policies after February 23, 2017.
Moreover, IMR declared in its January 16 announcement that insurance holders won't be able to renew with them from March 20, 2017, as it begins to wind down after 10 years of business in Australia.
Existing customers may receive replacement insurance policies with Shannons, which will be optional to take up. These offers will be sent out approximately one month before policies expire.
IMR will continue to handle all claims up until an insurance holder's next renewal. eg if your policy ends on December 15, 2017 and your bike is stolen in the interim, IMR will process the claim. In addition, Shannons will still honour all previous repair guarantees in future.
