After 16-and-a-half years heading up Suzuki’s motorcycle division as General Manager, Perry Morison will take on the newly created senior role of Executive Director -- Government Relations at Polaris. Polaris says the appointment comes in the midst of the most exciting growth era in the company’s history, a period that has seen the recent release of 11 new products and the creation of completely new market segments with its Sportsman ACE and Polaris UTE models.
After a stint at Honda Australia, Morison became marketing manager at Suzuki in 1997 and not long after that assumed the role of General Manager.
Aside from his lengthy tenure leading Suzuki, Morison has also been active at an executive level within the broader motorcycle and ATV industry, also serving as the FCAI’s Motorcycle Group & ATV Group Chairperson, among other roles. Morison has consistently been involved in the most significant industry issues and achievements and is widely regarded as one of the key drivers behind the successful Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme (LAMS).
Known widely throughout the motorcycle industry, Morison will head up a number of initiatives on behalf of the company relating to corporate governance, legislation, compliance and broader industry issues.
Polaris Australia & New Zealand Manager Director, Peter Alexander, described the appointment as “a giant leap forward” for the fully owned Australian and New Zealand subsidiary.
“It is a rare opportunity to secure someone of the experience and calibre of Perry,” he said.
“Perry will play a pivotal role in what is, without a doubt, the most exciting era Polaris has ever had, both locally and abroad.”
