Indian unveils ‘Elite’ limited-edition baggers

High-end Indian Challenger Elite and Chieftain Elite promise luxury appointments and sublime style

Indian Motorcycle has pulled the covers off two new and limited-edition baggers, with just a handful of examples of the 2022 Indian Chieftain Elite and 2022 Indian Challenger Elite expected to reach Australia.

Born to eat up the miles in fine style, each bike boasts a long list of features and accessories, along with its own distinctive ‘Elite’-specific styling and colour scheme.

2022 Indian Chieftain Elite

For those who prefer a traditionally styled bagger, the 2022 Indian Chieftain Elite is powered by Indian’s air-cooled Thunderstroke 116 V-twin and comes in a classy Heavy Metal Smoke paint scheme with premium bronze finishes.

Standout features include a choice of three ride modes – Tour, Standard, and Sport – along with an Adaptive Pathfinder LED headlight, an adjustable and tinted flare windscreen, aluminium floorboards, backlit switchblocks, Pathfinder S driving lights, 7-inch multimedia touchscreen with Apple CarPlay connectivity, and a 400-watt PowerBand audio system. That in addition to standard items like pushbutton starting, tyre pressure monitoring, plus weatherproof and remote locking saddlebags with 68 litres of storage.

Just eight examples of the 150 produced worldwide will make it to Australia, with the 2022 Indian Chieftain Elite priced at $49,995 ride away.

2022 Indian Challenger Elite

With its muscle car-inspired styling the 2022 Indian Challenger Elite is ready to rumble both on the open road and in the hills. Featuring distinctive Stealth Grey and Black Metallic paint with Indy Red accents, this beast of a bagger is powered by a liquid-cooled PowerPlus 108 V-twin that lays claim to 122hp and a monster 174Nm of torque.

With three ride modes – Rain, Standard, or Sport – the bike is ready for any situation, and boasts numerous premium amenities and advanced rider systems. The electronically adjustable Fox rear suspension allows the preload to be dialled in to suit solo or two-up riding, while Indian’s Smart Lean Technology keeps you safe when the pace is hot.

There’s a full LED lighting package, including LED driving lights, plus backlit switchblock controls, while the adaptive headlight changes angle as the bike corners, allowing it to better right the road ahead.

A 400-watt PowerBand audio system includes saddlebag speakers, while the 2022 Indian Challenger Elite also receives niceties like the keyless ignition, tyre pressure monitoring, the remote-locking saddlebags, and the 7-inch multimedia touchscreen with Apple CarPlay connectivity.
