Apple CarPlay is the latest update in Indian Motorcycle’s mission to enhance rider experience and deliver industry-leading technology.
The American company has announced the integration of Apple CarPlay to a number of models in its 2020 line-up – specifically those equipped with the 7-inch Ride Command system, including 2020 Chieftain, Roadmaster, and Challenger models.

Riders with iPhones can now easily access Apple Music, Maps and send messages with Siri (Apples voice-activated assistant) through the Ride Command 7-inch screen and a supported Bluetooth headset (not included).
Indian has also improved the Ride Command system in other areas including navigation location management, boot time, audio muting and control, and search functionality within navigation. It has also added widget fixes including a new fuel economy widget.
First introduced in 2014, Apple CarPlay allows iOS devices to be controlled through a vehicle's infotainment system. This means users can easily make phone calls, send messages, listen to music and navigate with Apple Maps through their vehicle.
The technology has become common in cars, but motorcycle manufacturers are slowly taking the leap into the clutches of the American tech giant. The 2018 Honda Gold Wing was the first motorcycle to support Apple CarPlay when it was released in October 2017.
Current owners of Indian Motorcycle models equipped with the 7-inch Ride Command system can have Apple CarPlay added to their machine as a free update. Contact your local Indian Motorcycle dealership or visit www.indianmotorcycle.com.au for more information.
