Here's Indian Motorcycle's latest custom — the 'Black Bullet Scout', built by Jeb Scolman, the same hotrod artisan responsible for the Spirit of Munro project in 2014 to coincide with the launch of the Thunderstroke 111 (HERE).
The Black Bullet Scout will be on display in Sturgis, and then "race and continue the tradition of an Indian Scout ripping across the Bonneville Salt Flats".
Scolman was delivered an engine, and the simple instruction to build what he wanted to out of a new 2015 Indian Scout engine (Scout review HERE). The 100 percent custom metalwork picks up on the designs of pure speed motorcycles from the late ’50s and early ’60s with a fork-mounted bullet fairing and the most minimal frame possible.
The hand-made features include a custom windscreen that wraps around the front of the bike to the headlight, while tight clip-ons and footrests mounted to the rear axle makes for as streamlined a riders position as possible.
The seat, controls and shapes all lend "themselves to the single mission of exploring this bike's top speed".
We'll keep track of the Black Bullet Scout's progress over the next few months. In the meantime, would you like a test ride on the Scout? Then click HERE to lock one in, and also on one or more of the other five Indians while you're at it.
