The Western Flyer and American Flyer are iconic bicycles our grandparents as kids may have pedalled.
Now Icon, a small Los Angeles-based company dedicated to building vintage cars and 4WDs, has revived the historic Flyer name with its E-Flyer, an electric bicycle designed and developed in collaboration with Vintage Electric based in Santa Clara, within the heart of California’s high-tech Silicon Valley.
Capturing the elegance of the board racers which a century past effortlessly raced the grand oval motordromes, the Icon E-Flyer gracefully blends Art Deco elements with today’s EV technology.
Each handmade electric bicycle is equipped with an EV system good for up to 56km of sustained propulsion on a full battery charge. The E-Flyer also features regenerative braking.
Agile and quick, Icon claims the E-Flyer is the fastest electric bike currently available. You can enjoy the versatility of riding on anything from a bike path to winding mountain roads, to climbing the steepest street.
The partnership between Icon and Vintage Electric shares a vision: to manufacture an electric cycle embodying the essence of American ingenuity and design enhanced by the best technology.
This E-Flyer is offered in limited production volume of only 50 for $US4995 plus shipping and duties.
