Hyosung Australia has added another entry-level cruiser to its local line-up, with the 678cc Aquila Classic set to join the 647cc GV650 Aquila in showrooms come September.
The Bikesales Network has obtained images of the only Classic model currently in Australia, and it's clear to see that the belt-driven machine has more, ahem, classical lines than the 'performance' GV650 it's based on, with big, sweeping guards, smaller and chunkier tyres, a chrome tank-mounted instrument console, and a smart set of dual pipes running down the right-hand side of the machine.
There is also a 41mm telescopic fork, complete with a rangy 33-degree rake and forward mounted controls. The rear features preload-adjustable dual shocks.
The seat height is just 704mm, and there appears to be a well contoured and padded saddle-like leather seat, and the handlebars have old-school written all over them.
The claimed wet weight is 229kg, and there's a large 18lt fuel tank.
The engine on the Classic is a stroked version of the GV650's to produce the extra 31cc of capacity, and the fuel injected 90-degree V-twin is claimed to produce 62hp at 8000rpm and 63Nm at 7500rpm - quite the revver indeed.
The Classic will also be available in 650cc LAMS form, with pricing to be announced on both models closer to the release date.
Hyosung also plans to release a luxo version of the Classic, which will come with a tall windscreen, saddlebags, floorboards, a heel/toe shifter, and better pillion accommodation.
There are no plans to bring this model Down Under, although accessories for the standard model will include taller screens and bags.
