Husqvarna TE 250 Meo Replica

Just 100 units of this special edition enduro bike will be built, with five or 10 of them coming to Australia for a under $13,000

Less than a week after the Australian arrival of the 2011 Husqvarna TE 449 and TC 449 models comes the announcement that the TE 250 Meo Replica has entered production at the company's Cassinetta plant in Italy.

Paying homage to Antoine Meo's victory in the E1 World Enduro Championship, the new model will be an ultra-rare limited edition model, with just 100 units being built globally.

The Bikesales Network understands that between five and 10 of the rare Husqvarna TE 250 Meo Replica's will be coming to Australia, priced at $12,995 plus on-road costs.

According to our sources Husqvarna has already pre-sold a couple of the new bikes in Australia, which feature improved engine power thanks to the fitment of a Leo Vince titanium racing exhaust with carbon cap and heat protection.

Other modifications made to the TE 250 include upgraded front suspension in the form of Kayaba forks with sealed cartridges, plus CNC triple clamps that deliver "additional strength with reduced mass and adjustable offset for improved steering response" says Husqvarna.

Numerous lightweight components have been swapped in to reduce kerb mass -- for instance an aluminium engine guard, wider, lighter footrests, an ergal (high strength aluminium) fuel tank cap and also an aluminium oil tank cap.

The TE 250 Meo Replica also gets a Dalla Valle non-slip seat cover, limited edition Antoine Meo racing stickers, and a Husqvarna racing handlebar protection pad.

In related news, the 2011 Husqvarna TE 449 and TC 449 models have been launched in Australia priced at $11,995.00 plus on-road costs.

The TE 511 is an extra $300 priced at $12,295 plus on-road costs, and all models come with an Akrapovic exhaust pipe as part of the bike's spares kit, adding an extra $1340 of value.

Stay tuned to the Bikesales Network for the full launch report and ride impressions on the Husqvarna TE 449 and TC 449 Models later this week.
