We brought you news of Husqvarna's 900cc street bike engine last week and though the Italian-based motorcycle marque has not yet released imagery of its first ever street bike, a bloke called Oberdan Bezzi has wrought his own image of the motorcycle.
The computer generated image shows a Ducati Monster-inspired design for the 900cc parallel twin 'street bike' and though Bezzi has no way of telling what Husqvarna has in mind for the design, the mock-up helps pass the time between now and November, when the official motorcycle will begin to take shape.
It will be interesting to see how Husqvarna styles its inaugural street bike, and whether there will be any resemblance to its dirt bike range - or even BMW's F 800 R for that matter.
Expected to output around 100hp (73kW), Husqvarna's twin-cylinder foray into the world of naked bikes is likely to be a positive exercise, thanks in no large part to owner BMW Motorrad having plenty of input into the bike's chassis and powertrain.
The German company has poured plenty of cash into Husqvarna and the fruits of this capital injection will begin to manifest later in 2011.
The four-stroke parallel twin-cylinder engine that Husqvarna has developed is based on the BMW F 800 R engine, albeit with a few more cubes to beef up its mid-range. Should KTM, Ducati et al be worried? Only time will answer that question.
As Husqvarna moves ever closer towards manufacturing a bona fide street bike, we wonder how close the finished product will be to this creation...?
