Husqvarna has added an electric enduro bike to its range, with the all-new Pioneer set to be available worldwide from February 2025. It is based on the KTM Freeride E.
Powered by a 5.5 kWh lithium-ion battery and an 11kW motor, the Pioneer is claimed by Husqvarna to offer up to 137km of battery range or a running time of up to three hours.
Peak power is rated 19.2kW and 37.6Nm of torque, while the brand also claims a top speed of 95km/h.
The claimed charging time to 100 per cent is eight hours via the included 660 W charger, or two hours with an option 3.3kW power charger. The battery can also be removed in ten minutes with tools, opening the door for swapping in a fully charged spare battery.
The Pioneer will offer three riding modes, as well as traction control, and three levels of “energy recuperation”. All of this is selected via a handlebar-mounted switchblock.
Weighing in at just 112kg, the Pioneer also comes equipped with Michelin enduro tyres, a ProTaper handlebar, and ODI grips.
Suspension will be handled by a WP XACT air spring fork with 250mm of travel, and a WP XPLOR PDS rear shock with 240mm of travel. The fork pressure can be adjusted with a supplied air pump, while compression and rebound can be changed via clickers. The shock is also adjustable for compression, rebound, and preload.
Husqvarna says the Pioneer is designed for off-road riding in “all conditions”, with all the battery and connected components rated at IP 67, making them full dustproof and waterproof.
Australian availability is still to be confirmed, the Pioneer will be available in global dealerships from February 2025.
